Cleanup Site: Leschi Sailboat South Moorage
Come join us for a Project AWARE "Dive for Debris" Day on September 24, 2011 as we clean up the south moorage of Leschi Park, situated on Lake Washington (see picture).
Participants will receive:
The Leschi Park Sailboat Moorage is located on beautiful Lake Washington south of the Blue Water Bistro. It is a freshwater site with visibility often exceeding 30 feet. The maximum depth is 35 feet.
Participants will meet at Underwater Sports in Seattle on Friday night, September 23, 2011 for a cleanup briefing from 6:30-9:30 PM (pizza, movie and soft drinks provided). Bring your tanks for complementary air fills or the shop will provide tanks as needed.
The next morning we'll meet at Leschi Park and go over a final briefing (coffee and donuts provided). We'll then break into dive teams of four (each led by a divemaster or higher) and perform the cleanup.
You must be a certified diver (divemaster or higher to lead a team) and provide your own gear (except air).
Non-divers are needed for surface support and waste handling.
